What’s up Thirsty Thursday (Holiday Edition)!!! What. Is. Upš¤©š¤©š¤©
If thereās a time of the year we need these, itās now! Christmas is in 19 days, thatās both exciting and terrifying because I feel like I have never not been this ready for it in yearsss!! Whoās with me? Well, I think these Pomegranate Ginger Margaritas will helps us friends, I really do. First of all, how festive right??? Is it just me or a cocktail is even better when itās cute? And pinkš!Pomegranates, we all love them, but hate to open them! Aghhh every. darn. time, so annoying, what a mess. I know you can buy them already seeded but every time I buy those, I feel like there notĀ as fresh so I always keep buying the whole fruit. I did see at Super Store recently they had some in the frozen section and theyāre pretty good! So thatās also an option. Either or you donāt really need the seeds to make this cocktail itās mostly for garnish! We are going to use Pomegranate juice (so that rant about pomegranate seeds might have been useless⦠lol)
Moving on, to the Important Stuff: The MARGS! I must say that Margaritas are not my cocktail of choice usually, but I think this is my favourite yet (although my Spicy Watermelon Margs are killer on a hot Summer day). SO, Pomegranate Juice, fresh Lime Juice, Ginger Simple Syrup, Orange Liqueur and Tequilaaa! Then, go crazy with all the garnishes because why the heck not. Crystalized Ginger, Pomegranate Seeds, Lime Wedges, ALL of them!Ā To Rim or not to Rim? Up to you! I personally like a salty rim but some people prefer to skip it!! I do a mix of coarse salt, white granulated sugar and lime zest. You could also finely chop some of that crystalized ginger and mix it with the salt mixture, delicious.
These are the ratios for one Cocktail but you could totally make this pitcher style for a party!!!
- 1 Ounce Pomegranate Juice (such as POM, unsweetened)
- 1 Ounce Freshly Squeezed Lime Juice
- 1 Ounce Ginger Simple Syrup
- 1 Ounce Orange Liqueur (Such as Cointreau or Triple Sec)
- 1.5-2 Ounce Tequila (I prefer Patron)
- Pinch of SaltĀ
Add all ingredients to a shaker with ice, shake, shake, shake and serve in prepared glass over ice.
If you want to make a pitcher, here is what you’ll need for 8 servings:
- 1 Cup Pomegranate Juice
- 1 Cup Freshly Squeezed Lime Juice
- 1 Cup Ginger Simple Syrup
- 1 Cup Orange Liqueur
- 1.5 – 2 Cups Tequila
- A few good pinches of SaltĀ
Now when I say 8 servings… that can be 4 servings… or 2! It’s your Party and you can do what you want, K? K! ššThere you have it, Drinks for 1 or a Crowd!Ā Cheers and Stay Tuned for next week’s Thirsty Thursday… there might a little giveaway involvedššš!!!
XO, Nat
